How to enjoy Depression?

Aref Saboor
It really works! I’ve tried for many years!
We all get sad and depressed with all its types. Especially nowadays the world is more depressing. Calmness, happiness and enjoyment is bad for the market! The market wants us to get sad and depressed so that their drugs, psychic consultancies, self-help coaching courses and various types of therapies can empty our pockets and eagerly want us to buy their products and services, do subscriptions and back-comings. It’s all Product nowadays. Peace, relationship goals, parenting tips, love, happiness and our surroundings are over-producted!
We often try to stay focused and hold on to our peace, but when you are out of your home, you may always face a peace-breaking incident, a racial eye contact, a sad face, a woman with a baby begging some pennies and there’s always something to break your peace! Once you return to your living walls, you bring all those seen and stored incidents and energies back with yourself, you try to lay down on your couch or bed for a few minutes, you recall them even though you try hard to ignore.
Depression is a predesigned main layer of our society to keep the consumerism culture alive. You want to enter your kitchen to cook or prepare something, you know what you can cook, you’ve learnt it from your mother or grandmother and you know it may be the most delicious meal you want to prepare, and you also know that for hundreds of years, it has been prepared and your previous generation survived -nobody died having homemade foods!!- and you also know it’s traditionally healthy and organic… but you suddenly give up patience to prepare it. Because the Pop-Culture already made you an activist against the healthy traditions and organic life! You take your phone, you scroll some shit or some reels, and a PhD holder doctor explains you how the homemade foods cause diabetes, even cancer, weight gaining and vomits you some other confusing medical words! You’ll get depressed and confused of course! They also tell you that how facilitated todays life is! You can just order something, or you’ll go out to pay for a fast food!
You also know, you are buying poison, eating dead food, a product for sure, a food prepared two months ago, but you’ll pay for it because it’s very well packaged and quality checked and also there’s an expiry date which gives you the feeling of safety to consume! We are civilized product eaters but cooking at home and washing the dishes belongs to some five decades ago not for modern life and sometimes it’s an uncivilized thing.
You’ll realize how being healthy is uncivilized but consuming products is a civilized characteristic of a modern human!
Apart from products, there’s also a popular word among the self-help marketers and that is “Trauma”. Everything is trauma today! Trauma is also a product for sale of course! They’ll provide various kinds of detraumatizing services to hypnotize you with sexy medical words and it’ll make you believe; you already are a victim who must be detraumatized! They inject Trauma by playing words into your brain even if you don’t have it! Nowadays, Trauma is a sexy trend word to publish a lot of self-help books and coaching course for detraumatization! And yes, you enter to a bookstore, and you notice a book title with “Trauma’, Ahh, that’s it, they already hypnotized to buy that! A tiny change and a little decrease in the numbers of your bank account, you’ll buy and pay for it, you read, you waste time and the result, again you’ll get depressed! It’s all depressing!
To eliminate these depressions, we need to pause and deeply look within, we’ll realize that we don’t even have any depression kind of thing! We are just hypnotized by the consumerism culture; depression is sold product that we have already paid for!
We need to get back to the old days, entering the kitchen, to get messy, to have an onion cry, to cook something for yourself, wash the dishes and make some noise to this un-noisy culture! A messy kitchen is the sign of a healthy life! Mess is the life! Splashing an egg is life, breaking a dish or a glass is life.
They told you wrong that “Life is a Mess.” But I say: “Mess is the life!”
If your kitchen has not been used for a month or even for a week, then my friend you are a traumatized consumerist and a civilized unhealthy depressed living being!
